Nathan's 4-Month Check-Up

Nathan had his four month appointment today, which included getting various measurements and four different vaccinations. After his two month vaccinations, some moms I spoke to mentioned that nursing right after the shots can help comfort the babies. We tried that today and it seemed like it made Nate angrier that I was trying to nurse him when he just wanted to scream and cry. He’s such a funny kid and he continues to make his preferences known very clearly. Well, it’s funny now but we may have to get ready for some PFA later on. Good thing daddy will know just how to help him with that, right? =)

Overall, Nate did very well and stopped crying rather quickly. We're thinking that the tylenol we gave him just before we left for the doctor's office probably helped. Last time I waited until Nate was screaming with pain a few hours after the shots to give him tylenol and he cried 40 minutes in my arms until the medicine kicked in and then fell asleep and I didn't want a repeat of that. Actually, it was probably the hardest for Brandon this time because he was holding down Nate’s legs while the shots were being given and he looked up at Brandon with pleading eyes while he cried. Well, here are his various measurements and percentages from today:

4 months (Date 3/15/2010)
Weight measurement - 15 lb
Weight percentile - 50%
Height measurement – 25 ¾ in
Height percentile - 75%
Head circumference measurement – 42 cm
Head circumference percentile – 50%

And some pictures of my cute boys!
