Averill Gathering

We made our first trip down to NC with Nate to visit Brandon's brother's family the week after Easter. We left around 730 pm so that we could drive without having to feed the little guy and we were able to make it there in less than 7 hours. Grandma and Grandpa Averill and Aunt Jo came from Little Rock, AR to join us as well, which was great but we missed not having Aunt Christy there.

Well, it was four days of lots of fun and games and yummy food. Mike and Jen were so hospitable as always and even gave up their master bedroom for us so that we could have the room and the master bath to ourselves. Thanks so much for hosting us all and always making us feel so welcomed and at home!

And of course, Nate received lots of hugs and kisses from everyone. It took Nate a good 24 hours or so before he warmed up to the various family members, except Seth. Nate seemed to love Seth and started laughing and smiling at him right away. Seth was very good with Nate and loved to entertain him and make him laugh, although we could not get Seth to give Nate hugs or kisses. Silly cousin! However, Nate got lots of loving from his cousin Katey to make up for it.

The kids had a blast being kids as always. Hopefully Nate will be able to join in the fun soon!
