9 Months and More

Nate turned 9 months old two week ago and we can't believe that he's been with us out of the womb just as long as he was inside of it already! A huge praise report is that there's been much improvement with Nate's acid reflux. He hardly has any spit ups these days but the doctor wants to keep him on the medicine and let Nate just outgrow the dosage.  A few months ago, we were also able to get Nate tested for dairy allergy and found that he is not allergic to dairy at all so I've been enjoying dairy again! Another huge praise, especially for me! He's maintaining the same percentile in height and dropped a bit in weight but the doctor said Nate is doing great. Here are Nate's 9-month stats:

9 months (Date 8/13/2010)
Weight measurement - 18 lb 13 oz.
Weight percentile - 25%
Height measurement –  29 in
Height percentile - 75%
Head circumference measurement –  46 cm
Head circumference percentile – 75%

As far as milestones are concerned, Nate is getting faster with his crawl and he still enjoys making the loop to and from our kitchen. He also loves to play chase with us and will cackle and squeal as we play.  It brings us much delight to see how Nate loves to interact with us like this.  He also loves to be wherever we are so he usually follows me into the kitchen or finds a mid-point between Brandon and me to sit down and play.

He's been pulling himself up and standing holding onto things.  He's only taken a step or two holding our hands and has just begun to somewhat "cruise" holding onto the couch.

He's been going through phases of teething but there's still no sign of any teeth cutting in just yet.  We've noticed him biting down on his lips or just about anything he can get his hands on, and drooling a bit more at times but he really hasn't had any bad teething symptoms so we're hoping it'll stay that way.  The doctor suggested that we hold off on feeding him meats until some teeth come in so we're giving him iron supplements and jarred meat food, which he seems to be enjoying.  We're grateful that he's been a good eater so far and hope it continues.

As for other favorite past times are concerned, he loves to throw and play catch and we've even heard him saying "b-b-b-ball." He enjoys playing peekaboo with his bib or burp cloth, knocking down blocks, pulling things out of his toy basket or off his bookshelves, putting things up onto chairs, throwing things down the stairs, pointing or reaching for things.  He also seems to enjoy us reading to him, which is quite amazing because he doesn't seem to want to sit still very long for anything else. I also introduced him to bubbles a few weeks ago and he seemed a bit unsure about them at first but he's enjoying them now.

Lastly, we noticed him shaking his head side-to-side about a week ago but assumed that he didn't know what that meant. Well, we found out today that he does! I told him several different occasions that something was a "no touch" and he looked at me and shook his head "no." It's such a joy to watch him learning and taking in the world around him and I'm so grateful that I can be right beside him to enjoy it all with him.
