Nate was born with a full head of hair. People have consistently commented on his hair, starting with the nurses and the doctor in the delivery room. It started off very dark brown and straight. Some of our friends even referred to it as the "rock star hair" because it stuck straight up in the air. Then around early April, Nate's hair started becoming curly and lighter in color with a hint of red. He sported the "mad scientist" look for a while with a mullet in the back. On Brandon's insistence, we gave him a very slight trim to get rid of the mullet and clean up the sides in June.

Since then, he's had the cutest head of curls that I just absolutely adored. But last night, we decided that it was getting rather too long and it was time to give the boy his first real hair cut. We started off thinking that we were going to cut about an inch but ended up cutting a bit more than that. He's lost a lot of the curls and what remains is just a head full of wavy hair. He still looks cute as ever but seems a bit older to me...sigh. I miss those baby curls already!!! Well, we turned Ice Age on for Nate to watch and he did great throughout the process and we were so proud of him! Here are some before and after pics of Nate and his haircut.

Awww, Annie, I miss his curls too! But he can borrow some of Matthew's sometime if you get too lonely for them. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's some cute little fella you guys have!
I know...=( But glad to know where to go if I need some curls! Thanks Cara!
ReplyDeleteSo very cute!!! Good cutting job, Mommy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! I can't take all the credit for the cutting job though. It was a team effort - I held up the hair and Brandon did the snipping.
